CG-4 Waco Nearly 14,000 examples of this combat glider were built, and it took part in all major Allied airborne operations of World War Two: operation "Overlord" in Normandy, operation "Market Garden" in the Netherlands and operation "Varsity" in Germany.
1. CG-4A-FO s/n 43-39953 was built by Ford and took part in Operation Market Garden in September 1944. Production of the CG-4 was shared between 16 manufacturers, some of which had previously only built refrigerators or furniture. Print available from Bravo Bravo Aviation. * * *
