The Mirage 2000 top view is coming along slowly – and the aircraft mutated from 2000D to 2000N in the process. This view is roughly half the size of the original file. Detailing the cockpit is always one of the most difficult parts, so I’m glad that is over !

2000-01

1. Mirage 2000C of the French Armée de l’Air. This aircraft, belonging to the EC 1/5 “Vendée”, bears the standard air superiority paint scheme for Mirage 2000 fighters.

2000-02

1. Peru ordered 10 Mirage 2000P (depicted here) and two Mirage 2000DP two-seater variants. The Peruvian Mirage 2000Ps were sent on an intercept mission on 10 February 1995 when Ecuadorian Mirage F.1 fighters downed two Peruvian Su-22. However, the Mirages were not armed with medium-range AAMs and had to abandon the pursuit.

2000-03

3. The Mirage 2000 prototype is now preserved in the Air & Space museum at Le Bourget near Paris.

2000-04

4. Heavily weathered Greek Mirage 2000CG n°233. The Hellenic Air Force has been operating Mirage 2000s for some time and is upgrading its fleet to the modernized Mirage 2000-5 standard.

2000-05

5. This Mirage 2000C of the EC 1/12 “Cambrésis” received a special decoration for the 2001 edition of the NATO Tiger Meet.

2000-06

6. “5-OP” from the EC 2/5 “Ile de France” squadron was the only French Mirage 2000 to receive desert camouflage during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Based at Al Asha in Saudi Arabia, it was painted tan/sand over light grey.

2000-07

7. This Mirage 2000-5 purchased by Taiwan was being tested in France by Dassault in March 1997.
