Le 10 mai, Cucumel avait abattu un Dornier Do 17, puis un Messerschmitt Bf 109 et un Heinkel He 111 le jour suivant. Il fut ensuite transf\u00e9r\u00e9 au GC II\/9 o\u00f9 il obtint de nombreuses autres victoires sur Bloch 152.
