Malheureusement, les vues de profil ne rendent pas v\u00e9ritablement justice \u00e0 ses lignes harmonieuses. J&rsquo;ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser des Mk V et Mk I\/II. Je vais progressivement m&rsquo;attaquer aux Mk V tropicaux et au Mk IX. Cet appareil appartenait \u00e0 Robert Stanford-Tuck alors qu&rsquo;il commandait le Wing de Biggin Hill. Il fut abattu par la DCA aux commandes de cet appareil le 28 janvier 1942 pr\u00e8s de Boulogne. Captur\u00e9, il parvint \u00e0 s&rsquo;enfuir en f\u00e9vrier 1945 et rejoignit les troupes russes. Ce Spitfire Mk Vb \u00e9tait l&rsquo;appareil g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement utilis\u00e9 par Jean Demozay, dit \u00ab\u00a0Morlaix\u00a0\u00bb, lors de son premier tour d&rsquo;op\u00e9rations avec le No 91 \u00ab\u00a0Nigeria\u00a0\u00bb Squadron de la RAF de juillet 1941 \u00e0 f\u00e9vrier 1942, au cours duquel il abat 11 avions allemands. Demozay termine la guerre avec 21 victoires a\u00e9riennes confirm\u00e9es et deux probables. Le Spitfire Mk Ia d&rsquo;Eric Lock, l&rsquo;un des premiers as de la Bataille d&rsquo;Angleterre. Eric Lock dispara\u00eet le 3 ao\u00fbt 1941 au-dessus de la France. Le Sgt W. Duncan-Smith du No 611 Squadron obtint sa premi\u00e8re victoire a\u00e9rienne le 29 d\u00e9cembre 1940 an abattant en collaboration un Do 17Z.
