As reported by AeroBuzz, the French air force has ordered 17 Pilatus PC-21 as replacements for the ageing Alpha Jet trainers, which are now in their fourth decade of service. The above profile represents HB-HZC, which is the third PC-21 prototype and demonstrator. Care to guess what the French PC-21 will look like? I’m certainly…Continue reading France selects Pilatus PC-21 as Alpha Jet replacement

Work in progress: F-15 Eagle
The F-15 Eagle template is coming along nicely. I’m starting with the single-seater F-15A/C template, which I will then convert into the F-15B/D and then into the F-15E Strike Eagle. More coming soon !
T-6 Texan templates ready & new projects
Well, I’ve finished the templates for two T-6 Texan variants: the AT-6D (actually the antenna post is missing) and the famous T-6G version. Profiles of these will be coming soon, but will probably have to wait after Christmas as I have a very large workload. I’ve started working on the B-17 Flying Fortress template, and…Continue reading T-6 Texan templates ready & new projects
Work in progress: North American AT-6D Texan
I’m currently working on the famous North American T-6 Texan. I began with the fuselageof the AT-6D variant. Once this is complete, I’ll add the wings and then convert it to the T-6G variant, which is probably the best-known version of this ubiquitous trainer. Once I’ve done all that, I’ll need to create the starboard…Continue reading Work in progress: North American AT-6D Texan
Fly it for Christmas !
It is with great pride and honour that I would like to introduce my partnership with maxFlite. The concept behind maxFlite’s product is quite simple: we all have fond childhood memories of playing with small foam gliders with propellers. In most cases, these gliders were as much fun as they were flimsy and unrealistic. MaxFlite…Continue reading Fly it for Christmas !
Tempest Mk II template
I’ve finished converting the new Hawker Tempest Mk V template into an early-series Mk II. Below is the Mk V template for comparison. I have a personal preference for the Mk V, which looks like some sort of brutal beast, but I must say the sleek and speedy lines of the Mk II are nice…Continue reading Tempest Mk II template
Bf 109G-2 “Black 6”
A well-know warbird, Bf 109G-2 WkNr 10639 flew for many years as G-USTV before being damaged in an accident on 12 October 1997. It is now restored and displayed in the RAF Museum London. I’ve made two profiles, representing it as it was when it was still flying (top), and in its current condition (below).…Continue reading Bf 109G-2 “Black 6”

In the engagement, Lieutenant Peter “Hoagy”…Continue reading “Hoagy” Carmichael’s Sea Fury WJ232
Sea Fury 541, Fuerza Aérea del Ejercito de Cuba
In 1958, the Fuerza Aérea del Ejercito de Cuba purchased 17 refurbished (ex-Fleet Air Arm) Sea Furies from Hawker. The aircraft flew briefly for the FAEC and were later used by Castro’s Fuerza Aérea Revolucionaria. Although the FAR found it difficult to keep the Sea Furies operational due to lack of spare parts and qualified…Continue reading Sea Fury 541, Fuerza Aérea del Ejercito de Cuba
