After a landing accident in Arizona in July 2017, Spitfire Mk Vb JG891 was shipped to England and flew again on July 6. She is currently decorated as JK879, a No 249 Squadron aircraft flown from Malta by Flt Sgt John G. “Jack” Hughes (RCAF).

Hello
Would you have any info on 106 squadron that flew Lancaster’s out of Metheringham England around April 24 to 28th, specifically a raid on Schwienfurt Germany where 5 Lanc were shot down. ND853 ZN-J was the planes numbers, any info you can round up as i seem to have hit a wall with how many flights it made or any info at all.
Thanks again

I don’t have any info at hand, but I’d suggest looking through the squadron’s operational record book: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/browse/r/h/C2503470
For more specific information on ND853, you can try requesting its Aircraft Movement Form from the RAF museum: https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/research/default/archive-collection/aircraft-records.aspx
I hope this helps !
Magnifique dessin de Spit “Merci”
