Dassault MD.454 Mystère IV

An evolution of the Mystère II, the Mystère IV was the first transonic fighter to enter service in France. It was also exported to Israel and India, who both used it in combat.Mystère IVA No 112 was part of the 12th Escadre de Chasse based in Cambrai, which provided the crews and aircraft of the Patrouille de France in 1956.


In 1963, the Patrouille de France was hosted by the 7th Escadre de Chasse, based in Nancy. Mystère IVA No 297 was one of the team’s aircraft, which now sported a specific paint scheme.


The Mystère IV served in the French air forces until the early 1980s. This aircraft, No 293, was part of Escadron de Chasse 2/8 “Nice”, and was based in Cazaux in 1978.
